CASSIA AURICULATA AN ANTI MICROBIAL AGENT

The aerial parts of Cassia auriculata were weighed accurately and defatted With petroleum ether. The defatted mare was then refluxed with 70% ethanol for about 5-6 hrs. The 70% ethanolic (Flavonoid rich fraction) extract of the plant of Cassia auriculata was then subjected for the evaluation of antimicrobial activity and for the estimation of Total Flavonoid Contents. 70° 0 ethanolic (flavonoid rich fraction) extract of the plant of Cassia auriculata were subjected for the determination of antifungal and antibacterial activities.

CHEMOMETRICS: A TECHNIQUE IN HERBAL DRUG STANDARDIZATION

The global use of herbal medicinal products and supplements has increased tremendously. The establishment of advanced and effective quality evaluation system is the premise for authenticity, safety and efficacy of medicinal plants. Chemometrics is the science of relating measurements made on a chemical system or process to the state of the system via application of mathematical or statistical methods. Chemometric techniques provide a good opportunity for withdrawal of more useful chemical information from the original data.

CINNAMON AS ANTI MICROBIAL AGENT

Hands are primary mode of transmission of microbes and infections. Through hand hygiene a simple and least expensive means of prevent health care associated infections specially derived from environmental surfaces. The present research was aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of Cinnamon oil extract found that it showed better antimicrobial activity. Also the research was carried out to formulate and evaluate the Hand wash gel containing Cinnamon oil. The anti-microbial activity of the formulated hand wash gel was tested against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacilius subtilis and pseudomonas vulagaris by spread plate techniques and the results obtained were compared with standard antibiotic.

NATURAL SOURCE WITH ANTICANCER ACTIVITY

India is the largest producer of medicinal plants and is rightly called the "Botanical garden of the World". The medicinal plants, besides having natural therapeutic values against various diseases, also provide high quality of food and raw materials for 1ivelihood. INVITRO EVALUATION OF ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTIES OF COMMICARPUS CHINESIS

The present investigation deals with the extraction of roots of Commicarpus chinensis, preliminary phytochemical screening and evaluation of antioxidant activity using various in-vitro methods. The roots were subjected to extraction by soxhelation for ether and ethanol. The water extracts was obtained from maceration process.

TURMERIC FROM ANCIENT USES TO MODERN MEDICINAL SYSTEM

Turmeric derived from the plant Curcuma longa, is a gold-colored spice commonly used in the Indian subcontinent, not only for health care but also for the preservation of food and as a yellow dye for textiles. Matrix Diffusion Controlled Systems ?

Matrix Diffusion Controlled Systems : Here, the drug is dispersed in an insoluble matrix of rigid non swell able hydrophobic materials or swell able hydrophilic substances. Materials used for rigid matrix are insoluble plastics such as PVC and fatty materials like stearic acid, beeswax, etc. With plastic materials, the drug is generally kneaded with the solution of PVC in an organic solvent and nucleated. Waxy matrix is prepared by dispersing the drug in molten fat followed by congealing. The granules are then compressed into tablets.

STERILE FILLING AND SEALING

STERILE FILLING AND SEALING PROCESS  Sterile Dosage form are the preparations free from pyrogens and micro-organism they are injected in the body. All the sterile dosage form are pyrogen free, bacteria free and perculate matter free. There should be no visible particle in the preparations. SVP and LVP liquid and powders are formed and they are sterile products.

RECENT ADVANCES IN NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS

Drug delivered can have significant effect on its efficacy. Some drugs have an optimum  concentration range with in which maximum benefit is derived and concentrations above (or) below the  range can be toxic or produce no therapeutic effect. Various drug delivery and drug targeting systems are currently under development. The aim goal for developing such delivery systems is to minimize drug  degradation and loss, to prevent harmful side effects and to increase bio availability.
