Entada abyssinica Steud. ex A. Rich (Mimosaceae). is a tree that is found all over tropical Africa. The plant has been used for the treatment of bronchitis, coughs and to alleviate arthritic pains. The defatted methanolic extract of Entada abyssinica was evaluated for anti-inflammatory activity in acute and chronic models of inilannnation. The extract (50-200 mg/kg, p.o) exhibited dose-dependent and significant inhibition of the carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema in rats.

India is the largest producer of medicinal plants and is rightly called the "Botanical garden of the World. The medicinal plants, besides having natural therapeutic values against various diseases, also provide high quality of food and raw materials for livelihood As we know that, cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide. Conventional cancer therapies cause serious side effects and at best, merely extend the patient's lifespan by a few years.
